"The Sound, The Soul, The One"

The technology residing in the Hammond New B-3, XK-5, A-3 Heritage and other Hammond organ and keyboard products is connected to both past and present.  Laurens Hammond's original 1934-35 concepts are now a digital reality.  Others may copy but Hammond refers to the original blueprints, patents, and design concepts proven over the decades.  That's why for 90 years and counting Hammond remains, "The Sound, The Soul, The One."

The Hammond A-162

The Hammond A-162 Organ in red walnut finish

Church Lease: Just $235 per month with $600 down.  Call for details!

Inspired by the A-100 Series Hammond Organs of the 1960's, the new Hammond A-162 is perfect for home or church.  With the built-in amplification and speaker system there is no need of an external speaker system.  Consequently, the overall footprint of this organ is smaller.  This is in keeping with the concept behind the original A-100.

The Sound of the Hammond B-3

Using the same Tone Engine as the New B-3 Mk2, the A-162 gives all the power and sound expected from a Hammond Organ with the familiar reverse-black and white key presets, Touch-Response Percussion, Chorus-Vibrato, and twin waterfall key keyboards with a 25-not bass pedalboard.

Powerful Amplification and Deep Bass

The Hammond A-162 features a powerful 150-watt onboard sound system with a compliment of five heavy-duty speakers, one of which is a 15" bass woofer for rich pedal/bass tone and response.  From a sound standpoint, this system surpasses the beloved antique A-100 series organs with nearly 4 times the audio power, producing a more defined bass.

Built-in Leslie Animation

Thanks to the stereophonic amplification system the Hammond A-162 has another feature not found on the original A-100 organs, a complete state-of-the-art Digital Leslie system.  The Hammond A-162 can also accommodate an external Leslie for those venues where additional power and sound reinforcement are needed.

Built for Today

Hammond has mined its 8 decades of history to produce instruments that execute the Vintage Organ's exact functions in the digital realm, providing not only tonal stability and confidence, but allowing precise control, extensive customization and adaptability.  You can now "dial in" all the unique characteristics and "intangibles" that you desire in a Hammond Organ and Leslie.  You can have the "A-100" you've always wanted
