Ever since ins introduction in 1935, the Hammond Organ has been an integral part of church and worship services of all kinds and all denominations.

Mr. Laurens Hammond originally conceived the Hammond Organ as an instrument capable of reproducing high-quality organ music a a fraction of the cost of a pipe organ. Many Hammonds originally built in the 40's and 50's are still in use in churches, chapels, and Sunday schools all over the world.

Today, the sound of the Hammond Organ, in combination with a Leslie Speaker, is an integral and indispensable part of Gospel church music. Hammond's XB-3M and XC-3M models are specially designed and crafted with the needs of the Gospel church musician in mind. These model, together with the Leslie model 814 Speaker Cabinet, faithfully recreate the unique tonal character and playing features so important to the Gospel organist. The New capabilities such as the Extra voice, the ability to control the Leslie Speaker rotors from the manuals, and instantly re-programmable presets make the new XB-3M and XC-3M a truly memorable musical experience.

The XB-3M flawlessly generates the pure harmonic sound of the B-3. And then goes on to add such things as the Drawbar foldbacks at the top and bottom octaves, the variances in key click, and the effect of overdriving a tube amplifier. Even the look and feel of the keyboards is faithfully reproduced. The total effect is the look, sound, and feel of the B-3. And it weighs less than 200 pounds (72 Kg) instead of over 400.
