Hammond SK2 (now discontinued)
The Hammond SK2 has been popularized to a great extent by our good friend, Ellis Hall. Hammond Central had the distinction of introducing the people at Hammond in Chicago to Ellis about a decade ago. We also have the distinction of having introduced Ellis to the Hammond SK2. Ellis loves this instrument so much that he has 2 of them! He tries to keep one in his studio and the other en route to his next performance. Sometime both of his SK2's are on the road!
Hammond thought about calling this the “Have Your Cake And Eat It, Too” but that would look silly on the back. We all agreed on calling it the HAMMOND Sk2 and when you play it you’ll see that first name is indeed appropriate and you will understand why Ellis loves this instrument so much. For many years, HAMMOND has been asked to make a truly portable double 61 note instrument that didn’t share the gross weight of a Refrigerator. The Sk2 can do it all. HAMMOND Drawbar voices up top, Grand Piano on the bottom-or vice versa. Manual Bass and Organ comp on the bottom, Horn section up top for accents. And yes, you can play the Sk2 as a double manual HAMMOND Organ in the traditional fashion, the Pipe Organ voices, too. Add one of our optional pedalboards, and you’ll have the pro rig you’ve always dreamed of, but didn’t have the roadies or van to realize.
With an MAP of $2,895, the SK2 was worth every penny and so is the SKX Pro. Call us and we will save you more than pennies and we have church, professional, and personal financing plans available.
