Portable Console Organs
"Portable" is a broad term when it comes to organs. What one person thinks of as being "portable" and easy to move, another might think otherwise. When we think of complete, console-like organs perhaps a better term would be transportable. Hammond Central has moved a Portable New B-3 and Leslie 3300 in the back of a Toyota Highlander on numerous occasions but we didn't just put the PB-3 under one arm and move it singlehanded! It is a two person proposition. Regardless the term used to describe these instruments, the following products can be moved without special dollies because they can be separated into their individual, modular components for easier transport or storage.
The NEW Hammond Porta-B Organ
The
New Hammond "Porta-B" Organ offers great opportunities to the church
musician as well as the stage musician. Based on the proven
Hammond A-162/B-162 organs, the Hammond "Porta-B" provides a very
high level of durability and performance. While not shown in
the pre-production photos, the Porta-B is designed from the ground
up to be a complete console organ with 25-note pedals and bench yet
provides the traveling musician the option of purchasing only the
organ and stand, without the pedals and bench.

Hammond Portable New B-3
The
easily transported Hammond Portable New B-3 is what so many
technicians tried to accomplish with various version of the
customized "chopped B-3" only more so. It is so often used as
a semi-permanent console organ that we include it here as well as on
the "Console Organs" page. While nearly identical to the
standard New B-3/C-3 internally, the overall construction of this
instrument is built to withstand heavy professional or institutional
use yet its layout is, from the player's perspective, identical to
that of the vintage B-3 or C-3. Learn

Hammond A-3 Heritage Organ System
Shown here without the optional, matching 25-note bass pedals, the Hammond A-3 Heritage Organ System gets its name from Laurens Hammond's very first organ, the Hammond Model A because dimensionally, the A-3 Heritage and the vintage Model A are essentially the same size. The A-3 Heritage offers churches and institutions the look and feel of the Hammond B-3 with a level of portability, should the need arise to move the instrument. The A-3 Heritage is becoming quite popular with smaller churches. Learn more...
Hammond XK-5 Pro System
The
revolutionary Hammond XK-5 Pro System shown here without the
optional, matching 25-note bass pedals is essentially the Hammond
A-3 Organ System in a more portable configuration. Most
importantly, the XK-5 Pro System is, for all intents and purposes, a
very fine representation of the venerable Hammond B-3 organ in
sound, feel, and soul...without the 450 pound weight.
